I'd love to see hanging baskets all over our streets here in SA! I just wish there would be more buy-in to this...

The problem is watering in summer months.. Although watering in general would be the challenge.  But why don't shopping centres put them up and then get stores to adopt the basket and thus take care of it...

No VAN! The camera is to make sure the plants never wilt without anybody noticing!  Hehehe

They seem to choose plants suitable for not being watered all the time - like as we seen geraniums, begonias and petunias so God may do most of the watering for them. Good shot Jeremy

That rather looks like a large light for the entrance in my opinion.

Abby, I think that's one of the reasons why we in SA are missing out on having baskets all over the place.  People seem to think they have to have impatiens in them all the time, Or the things that require regular watering, but I have seen hanging basktes which are planted up with waterwise things such as Succulents!

I once saw a basket planted with echeveria which was stunning...

Yes Wayne

I think that is the secret to hanging baskets - the choice of plants unless done as an annual.

The main reason why my Dendrobium Orchid which is an epiphyte does so well in a small plastic pot with ordinary potting mix.
