Abby, they go for around R45 here in SA.  Divide that by around 7 or so, and you have the ozzie price.

I have quite a few hanging baskets on high branches in trees in my garden with various colours of Christmas Cactus planted in them. They have completed their flowering about two months ago but you can get the idea.

The one on the top left is about 3 meters from the ground. I get onto the playground platform to water it.

This view is from the opposite side. I also have some hanging in my Clivia shade house too.

Heinie,
Lovely display.  That second pic just shows how healthy those plants are.  I have seen so many of these with damaged or tatty leaves.
Best Regards,

Mel.

Heinie
Ooh! You have some very healthy specimens of Zygote Cacti there - very nice.
What type are they? You will show them to us next time they are in bloom I trust

Wayne

Thanks for the info on the pots.

The price sounds very reasonable, it is similar to the cost I pay for the much smaller pots here.

Unfortunately I suspect it would be the postage that would kill the deal.  :)

Quite possibly.  I know we have our arms ripped off and then we're hit with the wet end in this country with postage...

Wayne is there any chance of seeing a pix of an empty sometimes? I would be interested in seeing the design of the pot. What is the purpose of the grill? for a better term, above the plant?

I will take a pic once I have one empty.

The grill pops out for ease of planting!

I wish to see these in flower, Heinie.  Lovely area there.

I could say that Dries woke me up to baskets, and I have seen so many members making use of these.
It really makes for a great decoration apart form the many advantages it has.

What makes one better than the next?  I am not sure there is anything, but I think all baskets need more frequent watering because they drain so well?

Regards

What I like about the baskets that I do is that I do seasonal colour, and I can use them as decor and not just pretty baskets. I can change them to suite whatever is happening inside the house.
And, yes they do need more water and SUFFER when they are neglected. But then, I must add that there are some succulents that will grow beautifully in Baskets such as the Echeveria.

I know 'curiosity killed the cat'  but I am so very fascinated by your baskets, I must have some, I must touch, feel and look.

I know the postage will be an arm and a leg but what the heck?? Can you please send me details of whom I can contact to check for its availibilty for me, at least to see how much damage it will cause to the hip pocket.
